Per HIPAA regulations, your health insurance company can access information about doctor visits, provider services, and medications you fill using your insurance, as this is necessary to process claims and pay for care. While HIPAA limits how this information can be shared, your insurer, pharmacy benefit managers, and, with your consent, entities like life insurers may have access to your health and prescription history.
